Due to New York’s recent ban on gatherings of more than 50 people, the White House’s recommendation of no gatherings of more than 10 people, and the New York Governor’s request that all non-essential businesses temporarily close, we feel it is necessary to make an announcement to our customers. We know that everyone is eagerly awaiting April 1st (our normal opening day for the season), however, we also recognize that the health and safety of our staff and patrons is a top priority to us. As you all know, our mine attracts large groups of visitors from all over the country. Unfortunately, due to the recent COVID-19 reports, we regret to inform you that WE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This is a very difficult decision for us, but we believe it is the right move to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. We will make a further announcement as soon as we know when we will be able to open for the season.
As a small family owned business, our resources are limited. We therefore kindly ask for your help in circulating this announcement throughout the mining community.
Thank you for your continued support,
Ted, Anita, and Anna Jane Smith
